While most gaming software developers are releasing shooter games that pit the players against aliens or enemy combatants, InterAction Studios is busy developing games where the player goes to battle against chickens. Chicken Invaders 2 is one of four games in the series. These games are intentionally funny video games full of humor and great graphics.

The object of the game is for the player to man their spacecraft and protect the earth from space-chickens that are intent on destroying the planet. The action has been programmed to look like a crazy version of Star Wars. As the player makes their way through the 11 levels of the game, they are given many opportunities to pick up various items that will help them in their journey. "Power-ups" are the primary item needed to change weapons into more powerful weapons. Ten power-ups are needed to get to the final level for the climatic battle. At each level, the player will be hit by 10 waves of space-chickens which helps keep the action fast and furious.

People might think this game was designed primarily for kids. While children will certainly enjoy the spectacle of fighting the space-chickens, the game really represents a breakaway from traditional shooting games that can get a bit boring. The humor in this game makes it worth the price of admission. To add to the fun, the game comes with two levels of difficulty and the ability to use the two-player mode.

The graphics and visual effects are interesting and fun. Players will enjoy watching the reaction as chicken after chicken is eliminated with guns or missiles. The audio sound effects are also very funny. The squawking sounds of chickens is not something typical gamers are used to hearing while playing a game. The game controls are very easy to understand and use. While this game may not offer a plethora of challenges, it will certainly entertain the player who will find it difficult to keep from laughing out loud.
